Biography:

Dutch Vander, designated Gold Leader, is a Rebel pilot who flies a Y-wing fighter in the original *Star Wars* trilogy.

He first appears in *Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope* leading the Gold Squadron attack during the Battle of Yavin.

Vander, a skilled and experienced pilot, is ultimately killed by Darth Vader while attempting to destroy the Death Star. He is remembered as a brave and dedicated member of the Rebel Alliance.
